My mother tested positive for COVID-19 on April 20, 2021. She was already suffering from comorbidities like Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Disease, and Trigeminal Neuralgia.

We were running with inexplicable emotions. Sensing our worries, she told us, "π’Œπ’–π’„π’‰ π’π’‚π’‰π’Š π’‰π’‚π’Š, π’•π’‰π’Šπ’Œ 𝒉𝒐 π’‹π’‚π’–π’π’ˆπ’Š (It's nothing. I'll be fine)." She was saying this while sitting on a wheel chair in the hospital with very high grade fever.

Days passed by in hospital visits and nights in monitoring her health. No medications seemed to be working. None of the blood or CT reports were indicating green. Oximeter showed her oxygen saturation level was dropping, its reading falling to 90 and below. Meanwhile, my wife and I started developing symptoms, further adding to our worries.

Despite shedding few kgs of weight, having unbroken fever from 11 days, and hardly any energy left to get up from the bed, my mother kept repeating, "π‘΄π’‚π’Šπ’ π’•π’‰π’Šπ’Œ 𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒏 π’ƒπ’Šπ’π’Œπ’–π’, 𝒕𝒖 𝒔𝒐 𝒋𝒂𝒂 π’‚π’‚π’“π’‚π’Ž 𝒔𝒆, π’•π’‰π’‚π’Œ π’ˆπ’‚π’šπ’‚ π’‰π’π’ˆπ’‚ (I'm absolutely fine. You sleep and rest; you must be tired)."

Today (May 10) marks 20 days since my mother first tested positive for Covid-19. Today, she miraculously defeated the disease and is now on the slow, but nevertheless sure, path to recovery, all due to her will power, positivity, and support of the family.

This is the return gift we received from her on this Mother's Day! I am hoping she gets rid of post COVID symptoms and recovers well and we stay blessed forever.
